Can Claude track expenses?

Not on its own. Claude can sort a list of expenses you paste, but it keeps no ledger you can total next month. With code execution on (the default on Free, Pro and Max) Claude can total an uploaded sheet, and Claude Code can append to a file. Connect the Expense Tracker server (free token) and Claude records each expense with its net and VAT split, category and project, and totals any date range. Can it read my receipts?
On a local install, receipt_attach stores the receipt file with the expense. The hosted server has no file store, so put the receipt reference in the note. You give the amount yourself, and Claude can read it from a receipt photo first.
Can I export it?
Yes. expense_export writes CSV, xlsx or JSON.
Is the server free?
The hosted Expense Tracker server has a free tier. A free token lasts 30 days and allows 600 calls an hour, with no account. Some features are Pro, and the server page lists what is free and what is not.
