Can Claude calculate my take-home pay?

It gets close, but the small numbers drift. A paycheck needs the 2026 federal brackets, the standard deduction, the Social Security wage base and the state schedule, and several of those changed after most models were trained. Over a long calculation Claude can also round or slip a digit. Connect the free Paycheck Calculator server and Claude runs the exact 2025 or 2026 tables for federal tax, FICA and all 50 states plus DC.

Questions

Can Claude calculate my take-home pay?
It gets close, but the small numbers drift. A paycheck needs the 2026 federal brackets, the standard deduction, the Social Security wage base and the state schedule, and several of those changed after most models were trained. Over a long calculation Claude can also round or slip a digit. Is this my exact withholding?
No. It estimates annual tax on wages with the standard deduction and no credits. Your employer withholds from your W-4, which can differ.
Are local taxes included?
No. City and county taxes such as NYC, Ohio cities and Pennsylvania EIT, and state payroll taxes such as CA SDI, are left out and the answer says so.
Is the server free?
Yes. The Paycheck Calculator server is free at its hosted URL with no token, key or account. The source is open on GitHub.
