Can Claude edit Word documents?

Partly. Claude reads a Word file you attach and can rewrite it. With code execution on (the default on Free, Pro and Max) it can write a changed .docx for you to download, and Claude Code can run a script on your disk. Neither one checks which fields of your template were left empty.
