Can Claude convert currency at today's exchange rate?

Not from memory. Exchange rates change every day and Claude only knows rates from before its training cutoff, so any conversion it does alone uses an old rate. With web search on, Claude.ai can find a quote on a web page, but it may not say which date or source the rate is from. Is the ECB rate what my bank will charge?
No. The ECB reference rate is a mid-market rate for information. Banks and card networks add a spread or a fee.
