Work orders and job cards in chat

Trades and field service crews lose money when parts and hours never make it onto the invoice. Plumbers, electricians and maintenance firms can raise a job, log what was used and bill it from the van.

Claude can draft a job sheet, but it doesn't number or track jobs. Connect Work Order and Job Card and Claude raises numbered jobs, logs labour and materials, moves each job to done and invoiced, and prints a completion report or job card.

Without a tool

Claude can write a work order or job sheet as text. It doesn't number jobs, it can't track a job from scheduled to done to invoiced, and it forgets the parts and hours logged in an earlier chat.

With Work Order and Job Card

Work Order raises numbered jobs, adds parts and labour lines, moves each job through its status, writes an A4 completion report PDF, and builds an invoice payload. Job Card logs labour by worker and day, logs materials, and prints a card for the client.

Common mistakes with this job

  • Writing parts on paper and forgetting them at invoice time.
  • No status, so finished jobs sit unbilled for weeks.
  • Logging hours per job but not per worker, so payroll doesn't match.

Questions

Can I do this in Claude?
Claude can draft a job sheet, but it doesn't number or track jobs. Connect Work Order and Job Card and Claude raises numbered jobs, logs labour and materials, moves each job to done and invoiced, and prints a completion report or job card.
What counts as an open work order?
Any job not yet set to invoiced. The free tier holds 5 open at once, and closing one gives the slot back.
Does it send the invoice?
No. It builds the invoice lines (Pro). You raise the invoice in the Invoice server and then set the job to invoiced.
Can the customer sign the report?
The report has a sign-off block. The plain-text report is free, and the PDF is Pro.
