Invoicing and billing

Recurring invoices, on time

Retainers and subscriptions should bill themselves. If you send the same invoice every month and sometimes forget, this is for you.

Claude can't run on a schedule by itself. With Recurring and Invoice connected, you ask once a week and Claude creates every invoice that's due, skips or pauses clients, keeps an audit log per schedule and forecasts your monthly recurring revenue.

Without a tool, and with the tool

Without a tool

Claude can't act on a schedule. It doesn't run on the 1st of the month, it doesn't know which periods were billed, and it can't create invoices in a system that keeps numbers.

With Recurring and Invoice

Recurring stores schedules (client, lines, cadence, start and end), creates real invoices in the Invoice server for every due occurrence when you ask, keeps an audit log per schedule, and forecasts recurring revenue per month.

Common mistakes with this job

  • Assuming the chat app sends invoices on its own. You still ask it to generate due invoices.
  • Pausing a client and forgetting the missed periods are still due when you resume.
  • Changing the price in the invoice instead of the schedule, so next month is wrong again.

Questions

Can I do this in Claude?
Claude can't run on a schedule by itself. With Recurring and Invoice connected, you ask once a week and Claude creates every invoice that's due, skips or pauses clients, keeps an audit log per schedule and forecasts your monthly recurring revenue.
Does it send invoices on its own?
No. Nothing runs in the background. Invoices are created when you ask, for example with "generate every invoice that's due".
Can it bill the same period twice?
No. Generation is keyed by period, so a period already invoiced is skipped.
Does it need the Invoice server?
Yes. It creates real invoices and PDFs through the Invoice server engine.
