Write a service agreement in chat

Most freelance payment disputes start with no written scope. Freelancers and small agencies need a service agreement with scope, rate, deliverables and the right clauses before work starts.

Claude can draft a contract, and the Service Agreement server adds structure: numbered agreements, a before-you-send checklist, your own clause library and status from draft to signed. Neither replaces legal advice. Have a lawyer check terms that carry real risk.

What you get

Without a tool, and with the tool

Without a tool

Claude can draft a service agreement and explain common clauses. It keeps no list of your agreements, can't reuse your own clause wording reliably, and doesn't check what's missing before you send. It isn't a lawyer, and neither is a tool.

With Service Agreement and Clauses

Service Agreement writes numbered agreements with parties, scope, deliverables and rate, runs a before-you-send checklist, renders the document and tracks status from draft to signed. Clauses stores your own clause library and assembles contracts as .docx or markdown.

The Thistle Media agreement came back signed today. Mark it, and show me what's still out for signature.

  2. agreement_list Lists agreements by status. One is still sent
Result

A dated status history for each contract and one clear chase: the 2,400 GBP retainer still unsigned.

Common mistakes with this job

  • No limit on revisions, so the job never ends.
  • Not stating who owns the work until it's paid.
  • Starting work before the agreement is signed. Have a lawyer check terms that matter.

Questions

Can I do this in Claude?
Claude can draft a contract, and the Service Agreement server adds structure: numbered agreements, a before-you-send checklist, your own clause library and status from draft to signed. Neither replaces legal advice. Have a lawyer check terms that carry real risk.
Is this legal advice?
No. Every rendered agreement ends with "This agreement is a template, not legal advice." The checklist describes gaps neutrally and doesn't tell you what the law is.
What counts toward the free limit?
Active agreements. An agreement stops counting once it's marked expired.
Can I add standard clauses on the free tier?
Free shows clause titles and summaries. Including full clause texts in an agreement is Pro.
