With its code tool, ChatGPT can usually unpack a zip you upload and read the files inside its sandbox. It won't check for traversal paths or a suspicious compression ratio unless you ask, and the files stay in that one chat.
The Zip server lists every entry with sizes and ratios, reads one text file without unpacking the rest, and unpacks safely with traversal, absolute-path and symlink entries refused. The hosted server can't see files on your computer. It takes a file from a public link or a small upload (up to 1 MB), and new files come back as one-hour download links.
