ChatGPT reads a PDF you upload and can answer questions about it. Scanned pages need it to read the image. Splitting or counting pages across many files needs its code tool.
The PDF server reports page count, paper size and metadata, extracts text from standard-font PDFs (no OCR for scans), counts pages across many files and writes new PDFs from page ranges. The hosted server can't see files on your computer. It takes a file from a public link or a small upload (up to 2 MB). To try it in ChatGPT on the web, where your plan or workspace allows custom MCP servers, get a free token at mcp.zovo.one/mcp/connect and add mcp.zovo.one/mcp/pdf/t/<token> as a server with No authentication. We haven't tested this in ChatGPT yet.
